Newcomer's Guide to Gardening

On Feb. 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., the city of Southlake is hosting a "Newcomer's Guide to Gardening" event at Florence Elementary School.
This event will teach attendees everything they need to know about gardening and/or landscaping just in time for the spring season. Two experts from the water university team at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Dallas, Daniel Cunningham and Patrick Dickinson, will be teaching attendees topics like plants for north Texas, basic design, landscape maintenance and the recommended plants for fruits and vegetables.
Tickets are $5 a person and attendees will receive a free water conservation toolkit, a handbook and other education materials.
