First Fridays at the Farm: Desserts
Grapevine’s Nash Farm is back with another First Friday at the farm. This, Friday, Feb. 1, from 10 a.m. to noon, people of all ages can learn about and make historic desserts. Tickets are $3 per person and with all ages welcome, your entire family can enjoy an inexpensive outing making interesting desserts.
Kids will learn how to make their own monster cupcakes at this workshop at the Taste Buds Kitchen in Southlake. Happening on Saturday, Feb. 2 from 9 - 10 a.m., this workshop is open to kids between the ages of 2 to 8 and costs $28 for both the child and their caregiver. This is a great way to start your Saturday that any kid will be sure to enjoy.
Victorian Valentine Card Making
Teach your kids about the art behind illustrations at Nash Farm’s Victorian Valentine Card Making class on Saturday. The family-friendly event is a great way to explore new passions and spend quality time with your loved ones. Tickets run $5 per person, for those five and older, and include light refreshments.
On Saturday, February 2, from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m., Flower Mound’s Painting with a Twist is hosting a wizard paint party where attendees will be guided through creating their own customizable wizard robes. This event is open to ages six and up with tickets priced at $35 a seat. So it doesn’t what matter your Hogwarts house is, this event will cater to all the Hufflepuffs, Slytherins, Gryffindors and Ravenclaws.
Comic book lovers rejoice. Happening between February 2 and February 3, the North Texas Comic Book Show is coming to Irving. One day admission tickets are $20, and kids 12 and under get in free. It doesn’t matter if you’re a Marvel or DC comics fan as this event has artists and creators that have worked for both. And if you like cosplay, on Saturday there will be a contest at 2 p.m. with a top prize of $100.
