Love is in the air this week, which makes it the perfect weekend to spend some quality time with your forever Valentines. Show your family a lot of love this weekend by checking out one of these exciting activities.
Anglers 16 and under can come out and try their hand at fishing during Fishing for Fun on Saturday from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. During February, the Keller Town Hall Pond is stocked with rainbow trout. So, there will be lots of little guys swimming around ready to be caught. There will be prizes for the biggest fish, smallest fish, first caught and most caught. Keep an eye on the weather though. There is a chance of rain for the 17th. If it starts coming down, the event will be rescheduled for the next Saturday.
Get to stepping with Mayor Hill during the Walk with the Mayor. The day's activities will begin at the Aria Amphitheater at The Marq Southlake. After walking around, guests can enjoy a complimentary lunch and LiveWell lecture presented by Dr. Mark Anderson from Executive Medicine of Texas. It's a great way to get in a bit of physical activity while also spending quality time with your family.
Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes Workshop
This workshop has us screaming for cupcakes. These tasty Cupcake-in-a-Cone creations look as great as they taste. Come out to Taste Buds Kitchen on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. to whip up these delicious treats. They will walk parent and child groups through whipping up the batter, filling the cones and making cupcakes that will melt in your mouth. It's the perfect way to spoil your child with sweets and lots of love. Make sure to reserve your spots before the class fills up.
Soulman's Grand Opening Celebration
Who doesn't love barbecue? If your family wants a day full of flavorful foods, family-friendly activities and a bit of a show, come out to Soulman's Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday. Families will get 50 percent off all meals from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., so it's the perfect way to make sure everyone leaves with a full and happy belly. Stick around until 2:00 p.m. for the celebrity rib-eating contest, featuring lots of locals that you will definitely recognize.
Do your kids have a bit of a sweet tooth? Let them create something special at LuluPops by Lina's Cake Pop Class for Kids. These fun sessions, held on both Friday and Sunday, will give your kids the opportunity to create something they can share with the family. This class is meant for kids ages 6 to 12, so parents will drop their kids off and pick them up after the class wraps. But, this could be a great way to get a little quality time with your husband or wife this weekend without worrying about the kids. Sounds like a win-win scenario to us!
