In the hunt for the best fair food, the Texas State Fair has announced its 10 Big Tex Choice Award finalists for 2022, according to a press release.
Some of the savory finalists include a deep-fried BLT, lasagna roll and charcuterie board, while the sweet finalists range from deep-fried rocky road with blue bell ice cream to the peanut butter paradise — a deep-fried honey bun injected with caramel, topped with creamy peanut butter and layered with Reese’s Pieces, crushed Butterfingers, peanut butter cups, drizzled caramel and powdered sugar.
The finalists include five sweet and five savory finalists, with three winners set to be crowned on Aug. 28 in the categories of “Best Taste — Savory,” “Best Taste — Sweet” and “Most Creative,” according to a press release.
This year’s State Fair is set to kick off on Sept. 30 and run through Oct. 23.
