The Big Tex Choice Award winners have been announced for the upcoming State Fair of Texas.
After tasting all 10 deep-fried, sweet and savory foods, the judges selected the winners for the 2021 Big Tex Choice Awards during the awards ceremony this past weekend. The Armadillo won in the sweet category with its cookie butter ice cream sandwiched between two deep-friend Armadillo-shaped cookies, according to a media release.
But that wasn’t the only Big Tex Choice Award winner. The Deep Fried Seafood Gumbo Balls, which are loaded with Gulf Coast shrimp, stewed chicken, blue crab meat and andouille sausage and deep-fried in saltine and breadcrumb batter, not only won in the savory category but also won for Most Creative as well.
