What was once a sleepy suburb of Dallas has now transformed into a dining hub for North Texas. West Plano’s Legacy West came into its own last year after opening one luxury retailer and restaurant right after the other. The final result is a beautiful strip full of charming attractions ready to be explored by both locals and those willing to drive up north to experience them.
While a majority of the locations listed on Legacy West’s directory could make for an exquisite date night, we wanted to give you a sampling of a few of their offerings. Because if you’re going to venture over to the luxury district, we want to ensure you are getting the most out of your night.

Start the night by sipping on a fine whiskey or enjoying a refreshing cocktail in a full-blown Texas environment at Haywire. The three-story restaurant proves everything is bigger and better in the Lone Star State. Each floor offers distinct experiences with the ground-level lounge providing a great drinks location to help warm up any date night. Their extensive whiskey list includes everything from approachable American ryes to single malt scotches. For those looking for something other than whiskey, their specialty concoctions and wine by the glass prove to stand up.
A quick stroll down Windrose Avenue will lead you to Toulouse Café and Bar, an airy French bistro that serves both traditional and contemporary takes on the classic cuisine. Start out with one of their chic cocktails – like the French 77 and Pear & Honey – that easily pair with the night’s delicate dishes. Their appetizers range from classic options like Escargot Bourguignonne to rousing starters like Ahi Tuna Tartare. The Duck Two Ways and Bouillabaisse entrees showcase the country’s beloved plates with superb technique and presentation. While we recommend trying and sharing a few things as a table, you’ll definitely want to come back to try more after sinking your teeth into these extravagant eats.
Sprinkles
If you left your car in the district’s parking garage, you’ll either have to pass by Sprinkles or their pink cupcake ATM located on the outside of the store, which means you must sneak in a quick trip before calling it a night. The cupcake destination only has a few locations throughout the Metroplex, so a drive out to just try a few of their creations is more than acceptable. But because you’re already there, it’s also acceptable to order a bunch to enjoy back home. With options like Cuban Coffee, Salty Caramel, Vegan Red Velvet and Gluten-free Lemon Blueberry, everyone can find something to enjoy. If you have your heart set on a specific flavor, check their website to see which cupcakes will be available each day to plan accordingly. Photo courtesy of Sprinkles. Sprinkles.com
