For a weekend full of appetizing events, head over to Chefs For Farmers November 2-4. The Dallas food and wine festival will bring chefs, artisans and culinary influencers together to celebrate great food and support local farmers. More than 80 locally and nationally acclaimed chefs, 20 farmers and artisans and 50 wineries, breweries and distilleries will join forces to put on the three-day culinary festival.
“It all started from sincerely wanting to help the small business person,” co-founder of Chefs for Farmers Iris Midler says. “The goal of our first event was to bring farmers and local chefs together to promote the benefits of working closely with their local/regional farmers, and it's expanded to other local artisans from there."
The activities kick off with Fearing's Fall Harvest Backyard Fest on Friday, November 2 from 7 to 10 p.m. Fearing's Restaurant's namesake chef Dean Fearing and award-winning chefs Wolfgang Puck, Norman Van Akins and Robert Del Grande will host a lavish family-style dinner at The Ritz Carlton – Dallas. After trying the night's cocktails and picturesque plates, guests will enjoy live music from chef Fearing and his band. It's a night sure to captivate all the senses. Tickets are available for $175 per person.
On Saturday, November 3, locals will head out to Victory Park to enjoy the Street Food Night Market. The downtown Dallas space will be transformed into an international food hall full of flavors from around the globe. Guests can go from table to table to try plates created by some of the area's most outstanding chefs. Tickets are available for $75 per person for general admission and $95 for VIP.
To round out the weekend, locals can attend The Main Event on Sunday, November 4. Here, guests will be able to enjoy bites from more than 50 farmers and chefs dishing out their locally sourced menus. And this year, chef John Tesar will be adding barbecue to the event by inviting out some of the area's best pitmasters to add their own flavor to the day. The event will also feature live music, a DJ and plenty of drinks. Tickets are available for $99 per person for general admission and $150 per person for VIP.
Tickets must be purchased for each event, and each day is 21+ only, so be sure to leave the kiddos at home. No matter where you choose to spend your time, Midler says to expect “a ton of major fun with [a] plethora of foods to try from some of the hottest chefs around Dallas and the country.”
