The Carroll Dragon Competition BBQ team wants you to eat their dust — literally.
Fans of barbecue and Dragon Nation are in for something special as the team has worked with Sucklebusters, an award-winning, Coppell-based spice and seasoning company to curate their own line of signature seasonings for purchase.
To help hone their skills and raise much-needed funds for competition, the team began cooking and grilling for tailgaters at Dragon Stadium before home football games. And the response has been nothing but sensational.
“Sucklebusters, our seasoning sponsor, helped us create our own private label seasoning and they bottle it for us here locally," barbecue team coordinator Ken Goodman says.
Made with very few ingredients yet packed with flavor, Dragon Dust is an all-purpose seasoning the team uses for almost anything from steaks and burgers to chicken and even vegetables. Applied as you would normally use salt and pepper, and you’re halfway to Dragon greatness.
When fans asked for something with a little more kick, the team came up with an all-natural hot and spicy Cajun blend they call Dragon Breath. Perfect for seafood, chicken and especially tasty as part of your homemade gumbo recipe, this seasoning packs a punch and brings out the natural flavors of your favorite ingredients.
“People really seem to love them, so we wanted to go a little bigger and see if we could start earning funds to help both of our competition teams go to the state championship again this year in Round Rock,” Goodman adds.
Dragon Dust & Dragon Breath are now available online for $15 per bottle at the Carroll Dragon Barbecue Team's website.
