While the Ginger Man is known for its brews, this local company also knows how to whip up a mean pot of chili.
The 2nd Annual Chili Cook-Off will take place at the Ginger Man, benefiting The Pro Players Foundation on Saturday, March 1. The entry fee is $60 per team.
This year's event features various rules and regulations to be met before entering the competition.
All team members must be at least 21 years old to enter and there is a four person maximum per team.
Each team must use at least one 12 ounce Shiner beer in his or chili and cook a minimum four gallons of the chili to be submitted for judging as well as public tasting.
Contestants will be assigned a number by the Chief Scorekeeper and receive an official judging cup. The Scorekeeper will then pick up the team's cup and deliver the chili to the judges.
Set up begins at 9 a.m. and all teams must be in their space by 10 a.m. The public will start tasting at 1 p.m. with winners announced between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.
