A new tequila brand has come to Cowtown.
Using 100% Weber Blue Agave, La Pulga Tequila is a new spirits company whose name is inspired by the La Pulga outdoor market. While it is based in Fort Worth, La Pulga Tequila is uniquely distilled and bottled in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico.
“Mexico and Fort Worth share a rich cultural heritage and connection, and our goal is to preserve and celebrate those strong community ties through the lens of traditional spirits,” founder Sarah Castillo says. “La Pulga Tequila is crafted in Mexico, but the idea and the genesis of this brand is firmly rooted right here in the city we’re proud to call home.”
La Pulga offers an unaged silver blanco tequila characterized by its floral aroma and notes of grapefruit and honey, as well as a reposado that was aged in ex-bourbon barrels for seven months. Both tequilas can be purchased in restaurants, bars and spirit retailers around the Metroplex.
