Life is too short to choose one pizza topping. So instead of settling for one pie, treat the pizza lover in you to a wide variety of unique combinations at Delucca Gaucho Pizza. This is not your ordinary pizzeria. The Rodizo de Pizza concept has been a staple in south Brazil, and it may remind you of one of the churrascaria steakhouses known for passing around endless servings of roasted meats. Sit back, enjoy a charcuterie, antipasto dish and a few other starters then turn your card over to the green to start the fun. Their friendly servers will float around the room carrying different pizzas directly out of their wood-fired ovens. For one fixed price of $18.95, you will get an unlimited supply of slices to choose from.
Husband-and-wife duo Evandro Caregnato and Didi Mallmann opened the doors of this dynamic pizzeria last month, but this is by far their first taste of the culinary industry. Both have years of experience working for a large churrascaria chain and helped expand the restaurant group on an international scale. They saw a need in the area for a similar concept that acted as an instrumental dining option in their home country.
“We went to pizzerias like this every weekend back in Brazil,” Didi said. “There is no better place to gather with friends and have a great time.”
While diners will see classic pies like their cheese and pepperoni options, patrons will come back for their vast selection of gourmet pizzas. For something a bit more unexpected, try a slice of the Chicken Tikka Masala Pizza, which features roasted chicken breast simmered in a masala sauce made with fresh tomatoes, Indian spices, cream and coconut milk and is topped with hand-pulled mozzarella cheese. Or, try their Turkish Lamb and Mint Pizza, which features minced lamb meat seasoned with sumac, lemon zest and Middle Eastern spices that is topped with a red onion marinate with lemon juice and fresh mint and hand-pulled mozzarella. For a seafood option, order up their Sautéed Shrimp and Fontina Pizza – which is topped with shrimp sautéed with garlic, butter, dried peppers and lemon juice and finished with fresh parsley and fontina cheese. Save room for dessert because their sweet selections, like their Italian Nutella, Brie and Apricot Marmalade, Blackberries and Honey Mascarpone and Flambe Bananas with Dulce de Leche, are too indulgent to pass up.
As soon as you walk into the bustling restaurant, you will feel at home. It's sleek interior and fine details creates a warm yet elegant aesthetic that the city has craved for a while. It's the perfect spot for a date night getaway or a fun way to treat the kids to an elevated culinary experience. Because who can get enough pizza, right?
