A new bakery is opening in East Dallas' historic Hillside Village Shopping Center this weekend.
Specializing in making classic desserts from scratch, SusieCakes uses fresh, simple ingredients for all of its baking concoctions, including cakes, cupcakes, cookies, bars, pies, pudding and cheesecake. Its most popular offerings include its classic Vanilla Celebration Cake, Southern Red Velvet Cake, Six Layer Chocolate and Tropical Coconut Cake.
This Saturday, SusieCakes will open its third DFW location during a grand opening celebration at 6441 E. Mockingbird Lane, Suite 150. According to a media release, the grand opening will include a balloon artist, face painting, coloring contests, raffles and samples of some of SusieCakes' sweetest treats.
"I absolutely fell in love with the warm hospitality, culinary scene and strong sense of community," founder Susan Sarich says via media release. "I'm thrilled to not only call Dallas my home now but to open another SusieCakes location to offer our sweets to a new area of town."
