Fried chicken, biscuits and beer are all coming to Southlake Town Square thanks to Whistle Britches. The scratch kitchen will open its first Tarrant County location in 2020.
Whistle Britches, which has two locations in the Metroplex – one in Dallas and one in Plano, comes from celebrity chef Omar Flores, a James Beard Award semifinalist. The Southern comfort food menu boasts pickle-brined chicken, buttermilk biscuits and indulgent sides. Whistle Britches will also offer an array of local craft beer and vibrant cocktails.
The Southlake eatery, a 4.457 square-foot restaurant located at 431 Grand Avenue East, gained national attention after being featured on Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.” Guy Fieri learned what it takes to create its signature Hot Dang Chicken Sandwich, which is described as a “fork and knife sandwich.”
Whistle Britches isn’t the only new restaurant in town. Ozeki Ramen Sushi & Izakaya opened last month along with Crumbl Cookies.
“We pride ourselves in keeping up with the ever-evolving tastes of our guests,” Jason Kasal, vice president and senior leasing director – western division with Retail Properties of America, Inc. (“RPAI”), which owns and operates Southlake Town Square, says via press release. “There is wide appeal with these new restaurants that complements nicely with the destinations already in the square.”
The restaurant has not released its opening date, but you better believe we’ll be counting down the days until we can take a bite out of these dishes.
