You could walk into Rita’s Italian Ice on any given day of the week and get icy treats ranging from traditional frozen custard to waffle cone sundaes. But this Thursday only, Italian ice aficionados can get their frozen custard and more at a discounted price of 99 cents.
National Frozen Custard Day is officially recognized on August 8 every year, according to Rita's Italian Ice media release. To commemorate the occasion, several restaurants around the Metroplex will usually offer specials for the delightfully rich and creamy treat, such as Andy’s Frozen Custard offering 86 cent cones and Wooley’s Frozen Custard offering a buy one, get one free special.
The most local restaurant to have a sweet special is Rita’s Italian Ice in Southlake. For 99 cents, guests can purchase promotional-sized classic vanilla, chocolate or twist custards. Aside from the 99 cent discount, guests can also blend their custard with Italian ice to make a sweet Gelati or a chilled Misto shake.
“With Rita’s tradition of first day of spring and giving away more than a million cups of Italian ice each year, we’re delighted to have a day to celebrate our award-winning frozen custard and allow guests to enjoy it for less than a dollar,” Linda Chadwick, Rita’s Italian Ice CEO and President, says via press release. “We hope to see our fans enjoying Rita’s Frozen Custard with us.”
Rita's Italian Ice is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday. Be sure to visit them at 410 W. Southlake Blvd. during store hours while supplies last.
