Brighton Barber Institute (BBI), a barber-education program in North Texas, will welcome its inaugural fall class on September 25. The new facility is centrally located in Hurst near DFW International Airport at 133 W. Harwood Road.
Created by the founders of Boardroom Salon for Men, BBI provides continuing education and training for licensed cosmetologists seeking further licensure in the field of barbering. Students learn from a team of expert instructors with more than 30 combined years of industry and educational experience. BBI also provides career counseling and placement to ensure graduates are employed at the finest salons across Texas.
“In 2004, my husband Bruce and I pioneered the concept of luxury men's grooming salons, successfully growing Boardroom to 26 locations throughout Texas, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Georgia,” said Heather Schultz, co-founder of BBI and Boardroom, via press release. “Now that the men's grooming industry is a fast-growing business category, a large market has opened up for licensed barbers with no schools prepared to supply this demand. BBI provides specialty training that will develop our industry's top future talent, enhancing their career opportunities and earning potential.”
BBI offers a unique program that focuses on understanding men's hair, concentrating in areas that traditional cosmetology schools do not cover. Students master the art of men's haircuts, styles, trends, as well as shaving. BBI's barbering methodology prepares licensed cosmetologists to excel as a barber in three short months with scheduling options tailored to those working in the field.
BBI's 3,400-square-foot facility features a modern design and offers state-of-the-art technology and equipment. BBI will host a grand opening event on August 21 from 4 to 7 p.m. Attendees will enjoy food and drinks, as well as learn about BBI's unique program offering.
“As we continue expansion of Boardroom with an additional 20 salons by the end of 2019, we hope to bring many BBI graduates on board,” said Schultz. “At Boardroom, we work hard to attract and retain the industry's top talent. We invest in our employees, as we've cultivated a teamwork centric, results-driven culture where team members are empowered to make decisions and take ownership of their careers.”
