
We all need abrlittle bit more JOY in our lives. So throughout the month of March, thebrSouthlake police and fire departments partnered up with The Joy Project to collectbrbunnies and bears to benefit patients and families in local children's hospitals.
Locals droppedbroff more than 200 stuffed animals at CISD schools and local businesses forbrthese patients.
The Joy Projectbris also helping collect monetary contributions to purchase toiletries for CookbrChildren's Medical Center's family members who stay for an extended period ofbrtime at the hospital or arrive unexpectedly due to an emergency.
Haley Whatleybrstarted The Joy Project back in 2000 by collecting stuffed animals for thebrchildren at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth. The group hasbrcollected more than 50,000 bunnies and bears over the last 17 years.
