The Southlake Public Library is recruiting secret agents this summer to participate in this year’s Summer Reading program, where kids venture out on intelligence gathering missions to pick up the skills to become a master spy.
On June 2, kids can make their way over to Bicentennial Park for their first mission. Recruits will pick up their Spy Field Guide, which gives them the missions they need to complete to get a higher spy ranking and create a log of all their reading. Blackland Prairie Raptor Center will also be out throughout the day sharing information about rescued birds.
And after a hard day of spying, guests can snack on free hot dogs, chips and treats from Rita's Italian Ice. Spies will also be able to show off their skills in the day's dance and hula-hoop challenges.
