Creating handmade Christmas gifts shouldn't be reserved for tots and toddlers. Older children and grownups alike can enjoy the warm feelings that ensue when a handmade present is given or received. Now through Dec. 27, Vetro Glassblowing Studio & Gallery in Grapevine is offering their Help Create Ornament-making classes.
The Extreme Ornament Making Blowout class allows participants to select colors from Vetro's entire color palette of glass, apply the colors to the hot molten glass gather, heat the colors in the 2,000 degree furnace and stay by the artist while he/she blows out the ornament and adds a glass hook. A class for participants 14 years old and up, Extreme Ornament Making requires reservations.
If you'd rather bring the whole family, the Traditional Ornament Experience allows you to select the color pallet of your choice, apply the color and watch your ornament being created. Reservations are not required, as participants are taken on a first come first serve basis. These classes are available through Dec. 23.
