Lights, camera, action: On September 30, local filmgoers willbrunite with more than 100,000 film-lovers from around the world when the 20thbrannual Manhattan Short film festival screens at Grapevine's historic PalacebrTheatre. Manhattan Short, the world's first and largest globalbrfilm festival, offers an exclusive screening of 10 finalist short films.
Established in New York City inbr1998, the Manhattan Short receives more than 1,600 short-film entries from 75brcountries each year. Ten finalists are selected and shown to more than 100,000brfilm-lovers in 300 cinemas, universities and museums spanning six continents.brEach short film is limited to 18 minutes. Viewers then have the opportunity tobrvote for their favorite short film and a winner is announced in New York Citybrat the end of the festival.
Previous short-film entriesbrhave gone on to be nominated and win Oscars in the Shor-Film category. ThebrPalace Theatre will be one of the exclusive theatres participating in abrscreening of the Manhattan Short Finalists. The show runs 120 minutes.
