Blair is a young and energetic key influencer that passionately pushes people to initiate change in their lives and break out of the envelope they have sealed themselves in. At WFAA, she oversees the creative marketing department, develops enriching brand experiences, launches strategic marketing campaigns and ensures positive talent image. Her most recent success is launching a new brand look for WFAA and being a thought leader in reengineering local journalism through content transformation and internal change workshops. Needless to say, Blair is a local wave maker who we can’t wait to hear from!
Janet Ormberget - Southlake Resident and Mom

Professionally, Janet Ormberget is the Vice President of the Quality and Compliance team at Jones Lang Lasalle. When nobody in the existing organization was willing to take on the new challenge of systems security and compliance, she decided to build a team and spearhead the efforts to protect her company’s clients. Janet’s 25 years in IT and “I got this” attitude led her to pass the firm’s first external audit with flying colors. On a more personal level, after learning that her sister had been diagnosed with breast cancer in March, Janet went to get a mammogram and was also diagnosed with breast cancer. Shortly after, Janet learned that she had tested positive for genes linked to breast, ovarian, colon and pancreatic cancer. The news prompted Janet to make a difficult decision and opt for a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction. Soon, she will also have a hysterectomy to remove any possibility of ovarian cancer. “We don't get to choose the genes we're born with. I'm sure we all would choose to make something different,” Janet says. “I know that I don't love having a risk for breast, ovarian, colon, and pancreatic cancer, but that was the hand I was dealt. All I can do is work with what God gave me.” A wave maker in all aspects of her life, Janet will share more about both her professional journey and what it’s like to make waves for positive change with her health.
Roxann Taylor - Southlake Resident and Business Owner

Roxann Taylor is a five-decade, internationally recognized real estate professional and the owner of the international real estate franchise Engel & Völkers for the Metroplex. She currently has two shops: one here in Southlake next to Gloria’s and another in Flower Mound’s The Shops of Lakeside. Her team recently announced two more locations coming soon. Roxann made her way toward positive change after she fell victim to domestic violence. Twenty years ago, she sought the help of professionals and relocated to Texas with a new name and social security number. Despite not knowing a single person here and with very little funds, she made a new life for herself. Roxann attributes her success to the tenacity she gained from her mother who attained a degree in engineering in the 1930s and headed up California’s movement for Equal Pay for Equal Rights for women in the 1950s. Roxann’s involvement in 43 different fundraisers and charities with focused benefits to children and other victims of domestic violence has allowed her to make a difference in the lives of many. All who have aligned themselves professionally with Roxann understand and appreciate her daily message: “Go make a difference in someone else’s life today whether it is a kind word or deed or expertly handling family needs of our real estate services. “
Needless to say, the panel of the 2018 Women’s Luncheon is an impressive group of ladies who will share their stories and how to initiate positive change in your own lives. Be sure to purchase your tickets before they sell out. This is a panel you won’t want to miss!
