
Round up your furrybrfriends and pucker up: Operation Kindness, North Texas' original and largestbrno-kill animal care and adoption center, invites the community to the 23rdbrannual Dog Day Afternoon on September 30. The free event is the largestbrfestival in Dallas-Fort Worth celebrating dogs and the people who love them.
“Dog Day Afternoon wasbrcreated as a way to celebrate the bond between dogs and their owners, and tobrprovide a free, fun event for the community to get to know us,” said JimbrHanophy, CEO of Operation Kindness, in a press release. “We are able tobrintroduce some of our animals and get the word out about animal adoption, sobrthat when people are ready to adopt, they'll think of us.”
This year's event, sponsoredbrby Pet Supplies Plus, will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at OperationbrKindness, 3201 Earhart Drive, Carrollton. Highlights include a mutt midway with dozens of vendors selling a wide varietybrof pet-related merchandise, a puppy-kissing booth along with canine contestsbrwith ribbons and prizes.
Youbrcan also score low-cost pet vaccines bybrTexas Coalition for Animal Protection, cool treats from Kona Ice, sweet tea andbrlemonade from Raising Cane's and PopStar Popsicles. Don't miss pet psychic andbrcommunicator Sandra Larson or the photo booth by Level-Up.
