On Thursday January 19th Southlake Style held its annual Best of Party and Awards Ceremony presented by Sewell Cadillac of Grapevine. Magazine and community supporters gathered at the Hilton Southlake Town Square to enjoy hors d’oeuvres, signature cocktails from Svedka, and celebrate 2011’s best moments captured amongst the pages of the city’s premiere lifestyle magazine.
The highlight of the evening came when publishers Mike and Nicole Tesoriero recognized the Southlake Women's Club as the recipients of their Community Impact Award. Since its inception in 2009, the annual award has celebrated long-standing and positive contributions to the community. Past recipients include Southlake Town Square developer Brian Stebbins and community organizer extraordinaire Judge Brad Bradley.
Southlake Women's Club President Kathy Talley and 2012 Art in the Square Chairperson Samantha Munns accepted the award on behalf of the entire club thanking all of their members, the community and their sponsors for making their annual art festival such a rousing success.
Established in 1999, Art in the Square has become one of the top juried art festivals in the entire country. In addition to enticing more than 140 artists and close to 80,000 art lovers to the city each year, proceeds from the weekend’s events are distributed to area charities. In all, the clubs’ efforts to date have been responsible for contributing over $1.4 million to such programs as; Meals on Wheels, the Apex Arts League, GRACE and the Carroll Education Foundation.
