At the Lone Star Elvis Festival, the King of Rock and Roll's signature bedazzled jumpsuits, jet-black hair, hip swivels, velvety baritone voice, and classic lip curl are brought to life in all their glory. Over the course of four days in Grapevine, this festival celebrates Elvis Presley's life, music and legacy.
Throughout his illustrious career, which was recently chronicled in an Oscar-nominated movie, Elvis achieved gold, platinum and multi-platinum certifications on more than 150 different albums and singles. His greatest hits include "Heartbreak Hotel," "Suspicious Minds," "Jailhouse Rock," "Can't Help Falling In Love" and "Hound Dog." Additionally, he is a member of five Halls of Fame: Rock 'n' Roll, Country, Gospel, Rockabilly and R&B. With all of his achievements, it is no surprise that he is considered one of the greatest musicians of all time.
Each Lone Star Elvis Festival event will transport you to a pivotal moment in the rock legend's career. “Elvis Goes Hollywood” showcases his transition from a successful musician to a Hollywood movie star, with 31 films under his belt including "Jailhouse Rock." Two award-winning tribute artists recreate Elvis' “'68 Comeback Special,” in which he performed classic songs in his famous black leather outfit. “Hot Vegas Nights” whisks the audience to the International Hotel, where he performed over 830 sold-out concerts between 1969 and 1976. “Aloha 50” celebrates the 50th anniversary of his iconic Aloha from Hawaii concert, broadcasted worldwide in 1973.
The festival concludes with a performance by Bill Cherry who won the 2009 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest. Between the many tribute artists who capture the King’s music, style and personality, the Lone Star Elvis Festival will have you shake, rattle and roll for days.
