Whether you want to indulge in art, hang on to Easter or have fun making cupcakes, there is an event for everyone to enjoy during this weekend.
It’s finally here! This weekend is the 20th Annual Art in the Square, a huge three-day festival hosted by the Southlake Women’s Club. There will be plenty of art to see and buy, musicians ready to play on two different stages and a variety of food and drinks for attendees to enjoy. There will also be activities for children including face painting, arts and crafts, bounce houses and a rock climbing wall.
If you're not ready for Easter to be over, head out to the Farmers Branch Aquatics Center for their Easter Egg Splash. On Friday, April 27 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., kids can hunt for eggs in the pool and exchange them for candy and eggs. The egg hunts will be divided by age and kids can enjoy carnival games before the hunts. Children 6 and younger will need to be with a responsible adult older than 18 with them in the pool and tickets are available on the Aquatics Center website.
If you want to spend an afternoon soaking in the knowledge from a variety of different speakers, head out to Grace Community Church on April 27 from 12 to 2:30 p.m. for TEDx at Southlake. This event will feature speakers such as 4th grader, author and illustrator Abigail Perez and Youtuber Annie Rose Cole. Eduardo Rojas, a teacher and concert pianist, and Monica Kerik, a life coach and happiness strategist are also among the speakers. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online.
Can you think of anything better than spending your Saturday making cupcakes? On April 27, you can head out to Taste Buds Kitchen Southlake to do just that. This workshop, open to children ages 5 to 8, will teach kids how to make Unicorn Cupcakes with sparkle ears, a unicorn horn and a rainbow mane. Tickets are $28 per child/caregiver.
