Celebrate Southlake with us on Saturday, March 23, 2019.
Even though spring break is officially over, that doesn’t mean you can’t still have fun. This weekend’s events have something for everyone to enjoy so you can keep that spring break feeling going.
Let your child explore a variety of public safety vehicles at this weekend’s Touch a Truck event on March 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Taking place in the Grapevine Towne Center parking lot, there will be a school bus, fire truck, police car, a recycling truck and more for kids to see and explore. There will also be face painting and food trucks for attendees to enjoy.
Come out to the Marq at Legends Hall on Saturday night from 5 to 9 p.m. to celebrate Southlake. This event, which begins with a free community dinner, will feature a variety of local cuisines and cultural performances. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs for the lawn seating that will be available.
Kick off your Saturday by learning how to make pretzels at Taste Buds Kitchen Southlake. On March 23, Taste Buds Kitchen will be hosting a Pretzel Twists workshop open to children ages 2 to 8. Kids will learn how to make pretzels and a cardamon dipping sauce to go with it. Tickets are $28 per one child and caregiver.
You’ve probably seen pictures of a color run on Instagram and now you can be a part of one. Taking place in Fair Park on March 23 from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m., The Color Run is a 5K where participants will be covered in various colored powders as they complete the run. After the race, participants will receive a unicorn-themed finisher’s medal, free temporary tattoos and a reusable tie-dye bag. This event will benefit the North Texas Food Bank.
Minefaire: Official Minecraft Community Event
If you have a child who loves Minecraft, then this event is for you. On March 23 & 24 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, the Minefaire: Official Minecraft Community Event will be taking place. There will be opportunities to see Minecraft Youtube celebrities, compete in tournament and build battles, participate in a costume contest and there will even be a Minecraft-themed escape room. Tickets range from $39.99 to $89.99 and kids 2 and under are free.
