If you’re still looking for something to do this weekend, look no further than this list. With a variety of different events happening in and around Southlake, there is sure to be an event the whole family will enjoy!
Movies at The Park: "Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse"
If you're looking for a more relaxed event this weekend, head out to The Shops at Park Lane for their Movies in The Park series. On Friday, May 17, from 8 to 11 p.m., the park will be showing "Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse" for attendees. Admission is free and while coolers are not allowed, attendees can bring blankets and lawn chairs.
It’s never a bad idea to learn something new, especially when that something new is flower cupcakes! Head over to Taste Buds Kitchen Southlake on Saturday, May 18, from 9 to 10 a.m. to learn how to make flower cupcakes from scratch. Tickets for this workshop, open to kids ages 5 to 8, are $28 per child/caregiver.
MasterWorks Presents: Southlake Community Band
Enjoy an outdoor concert this weekend with Southlake’s MasterWorks series! On Saturday, May 18, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Aria Amphitheater, the Southlake Community Band will play a free concert for the community. The Southlake Community Band is made up of more than 70 adult amateur musicians who are ready to play for the community. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and coolers while alcohol and glass are not permitted.
Sensory Sunday at Crayola Experience Plano
If you have a child with special needs, head out to Crayola Experience Plano for another Sensory Sunday. On Sunday, May 19, from 9 to 11 a.m., attendees can expect dimmed lights, no music and a quiet space to help children with special needs still have a good time. There will also be special character appearances for attendees to enjoy.
If there's anything that can make a 5K better, it's pups. So head out to the Dallas Market Center for the Dallas Pup Run 5K. This event will take place before the second morning of the Dallas Pet Expo from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Running humans will receive a t-shirt and participation medal while running pups will get Pup Run bandanas. Pups are allowed to be in strollers if needed and there is a limit of one pup per runner. Runners don't need to bring a pup but if they do, all pups must be on a non-retractable leash with proof of age-appropriate vaccinations.
