Rangoli, gulab jamuns and diyas will light up the night sky when Southlake Diwali Fest returns this weekend. But that isn't all that's happening this weekend in Southlake. From dog park openings to kids parties to exciting craft fairs, there's a whole bunch packed into the weekend ahead — and we've got the full rundown.
There’s only one way to make the grand opening of a new dog park even better – and that’s with dogs! Come to the new Bear Creek Dog Park in Grapevine at 10 a.m. on Saturday at 1175 Municipal Way and experience the park’s grand opening first hand! The Humane Society of North Texas will also be there with their own pupper pals that will be up for adoption. So what’re you waiting for? Come to Bear Creek Park and have a tail-wagging time.
Diwali comes to Southlake this weekend for an exciting, extravagant cultural splash into Indian food, festivities and fun! Resident Kush Rao brought this community gathering to the city this year, which had around 2,000 people in attendance. Now returning for its second year, Southlake Diwali Fest will have all of the Indian food, music, handicrafts, clothing and jewelry to your heart’s desire. The free festival is going on from 3 p.m. to midnight on Saturday at Rustin Pavilion, located on Southlake Town Square.
Want an afternoon where your child can venture off in a fun and safe place while you indulge in an evening to yourself? The Champions Club at the Marq is hosting a kids' party from 4 to 10 p.m. on Saturday at 285 Shady Oaks Dr. where kids can gather for a fun evening to themselves. Register online and your kid will get the chance to play games, traverse the indoor playground and eat as much pizza and cupcakes as they want! It’s always a party over at Champions Club.
Kids Night Out: 'Star Wars' Edition
These kids are one with the force – and so will you if you choose to join them. Fellowship of the Parks is hosting a free kids night out where kindergartners to fifth-graders will master the ways of the jedi through fun activities, games and arts and crafts. This community event is free and open to the public and runs from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday at 1905 Hall Johnson Rd. Come and learn what it means to be a true jedi.
Want to shop at a local craft jamboree that features more than 100 unique vendors? Southlake Carroll's parent teacher organization is hosting a two-day exclusive shopping experience where you get to look through exquisite clothing, gourmet food, gifts, toys, jewelry and more from several local talented businesses. Come to the Southlake Craft Fair Saturday or Sunday afternoon at Southlake Carroll Senior High School and see what you can find.
