September is here, and the weather is cooling down just in time for some fall fun and recreation. Whether you check out a photo exhibit, go to a concert or play with butterflies, there's plenty to do around Southlake this weekend.
Places People Still Talk About
If you haven’t checked out the Southlake Historical Society’s newest photo exhibit, this weekend is your last chance to check it out. Swing by Southlake Town Hall anytime between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and get a good glimpse at Southlake’s early days. You’ll see all of the early sightings in Southlake from mom-and-pop shops to barns to cafes and more.
Things will be electric at Central Market this Saturday. From 6 to 9 p.m., the rock band Livewire will come to the market and jam out during a live performance. Come and enjoy great food, music and company as Livewire kicks off the fall season at Central Market! Admission is free and all ages are welcome.
Root beer doesn’t normally mix with beauty, but it will be this weekend at Sweet and Sassy! Dads can bring their daughters to the salon at 4 p.m. this Sunday at 1081 E. Southlake Blvd., Suite 150 for a fun afternoon filled with braiding and root beer. You’ll love learning how to braid your daughter’s hair with her, all while sipping on a cold one. Cheers!
2021 Kiwanis Butterfly Festival
Hundreds of Texas butterflies will descend upon Southlake Town Square this weekend for the 2021 Kiwanis Butterfly Festival. On Saturday and Sunday, interact with all of the beautiful butterfly species inside a 600-square-foot mesh tent before the butterflies are released at 5 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children, and proceeds will go toward the Children’s Miracle Network.
The Gaylord Texan Resort is kicking off a new season of Goblins and Giggles on Saturday, where families can come and enjoy all of its Halloween entertainment until October 31. Come and paint at the art studio, participate in a scavenger hunt, go trick-or-treating, make your way through one of its escape rooms or listen to some live ghost stories. You’ll have a spooktacular time either way!
