More than 10 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered to Texans since it first became available this spring. Now more than 22 million people can access it thanks to the Department of State Health Services’ eligibility changes.
On Monday, March 30, the state expanded vaccine eligibility to all Texans 16 or older while prioritizing elder residents and at-risk individuals. With millions of residents now eager to get a vaccine, Texans will need to know where to register if they want to get vaccinated. Here are five online resources you can use to sign up for the COVID-19 vaccine.
Texas Vaccine Availability Map
Assembled by the State Department of Texas Health services, the COVID-19 vaccine availability map shows which local clinics are stocked with the vaccine, which kind of doses and how many. The map also provides addresses, phone numbers and websites so you can register for an appointment online.
A free service developed by the Boston Children’s Hospital, VaccineFinder shows where you can get the Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech and Johnson & Johnson vaccines across the country. Simply type in your zip code and the map populates with search results for up to 50 miles.
Tarrant County residents can register for a vaccine with the Public Health Department through its sign-up page. Tarrant County currently operates three large vaccination hubs in the Tarrant County Public Health District, Texas Health Resources, the Arlington Fire Department and several other auxiliary sites surrounding those hubs.
