Hawaiian Falls in Roanoke is embracing its namesake by hosting an Aloha Y'All festival next weekend.
During National Cowboy Day on Saturday, July 24, Hawaiian Falls will blend both Texas hospitality and an aloha spirit into a fun and exciting festival at its water park. Managing director Ryan Forson says the event will be a grand celebration of both of its heritages.
"For many years, we've proudly welcomed families to our water parks with a sincere 'aloha,'" Ryan says in a media release. "'Aloha' literally means 'hello' or 'goodbye' in Hawaiian, but more importantly, the aloha spirit is one of love and affection. 'Aloha Y'all' really means 'you are welcomed' as someone very dear to us."
The attire contest kicks off immediately at 11 a.m., so cowboys and cowgirls are encouraged to come dressed in their best outfits. Ohana games will start for kids of all ages at 1:30 p.m., and at 4 p.m. there will be a family hat decorating contest. The wave pool will be open afterwards to celebrate both Texan and Hawaiian cultures together.
All-day admission passes range between $23.99-31.99. Season pass holders are admitted free, and a special $15 pass is available from 3 to 8 p.m. To purchase tickets, visit HFalls.com.
