With Thanksgiving in the rearview mirror, the Christmas season is upon us. With it comes a host of spectacular Christmas light shows perfect for family outings. If you’re interested in seeing the best lights this season, look no further than these fun events.
In the midst of doing your shopping at the Galleria in Dallas, you and your family can catch fantastic music and lights show from wherever you are in the mall. Every day through Dec. 24, the Galleria Dallas holds an Illumination Celebration at 12, 2, 4 and 6 p.m., able to be enjoyed at all levels of the mall. For even more Christmas cheer, stop by for Storytime With Mrs. Claus, Slappy’s Holiday Circus, Santaland or to experience a variety of holiday performances.
If you’re looking for a low-key way to enjoy some Christmas Lights, head over to the Dallas Zoo. This year’s Dallas Zoo Lights will be drive-thru, ensuring you can enjoy Christmas Lights while in the comfort of your own vehicle. Open from 6-9:30 p.m. through Jan. 2, attendees can choose when they want to enjoy the 1 million Christmas lights and holiday displays. And Dallas Zoo Lights will also feature new video projection this year, making you feel truly immersed in the lights. Tickets start at $65 per car.
Another great drive-thru Christmas lights show is the Gift Of Lights. Open through Jan. 2, the Gift Of Lights is a 2-mile long Christmas lights show throughout the Texas Motor Speedway. This year’s Gift Of Lights will include photos with Santa and Santa’s Village, as well as food and drinks for attendees. Pets are allowed at this year's Gift Of Lights, so don't forget to bring them along. Tickets start at $30 per car.
This season at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, attendees can enjoy millions of festive lights and enjoy plenty of holiday cheer. Stroll down to the Merry Marketplace to meet Santa Claus or see the animals at Johnson’s Creek Critter Corral. Attendees can also indulge in delicious food and drinks while gathering around to watch a holiday show. Tickets for Holiday In The Park start at $30.
A bit farther away is Radiance! at Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, but it's more than worth the drive. Radiance! features 3 million lights synchronized to all your favorite Christmas songs. But Christmas lights aren’t all Radiance! has to offer. Attendees can also enjoy tubing down a two-story hill, ice skating, riding holiday bumper cards and taking a trip on a Ferris wheel, Christmas carousel and train. Tickets start at $30 for adults and $20 for kids ages 3-11.
Every night through Jan. 2, families can head over to Vitruvian Park in Addison for Vitruvian Lights. Vitruvian Lights is a holiday event that features thousands of Christmas lights in Vitruvian Park. On select nights, there is live music playing all your holiday favorites. The lights will turn on at 5 p.m. every night, so those with little ones can gaze at all of the colors light up while still making it to their bedtime.
