Although it's the most wonderful time of the year, it can also be the busiest. By enlisting the help of family and friends, staying organized and being proactive, you'll have fewer to-dos and more time to celebrate.
In the spirit of the season, the best way to stay on task is with a list divided into categories, such as gifts to purchase, recipes to make, events to attend and activities to plan. Delegating tasks to the kiddos, significant others and even friends can help alleviate pressure, from decorating the tree to wrapping presents.
"The holidays typically bring out-of-town guests, entertaining, holiday parties, hostesses, employee gifts and much more,” Southlake Concierge owner Wendy Lang says. “Having an extra pair of hands to help is such a gift."
Before bringing bins down from the attic, consider your space – accommodate a little breathing room for new decorations and designate a place for everything so it doesn’t become overcrowded. Post-holiday packing can be just as stressful as setting up, so it’s just as essential to stay organized when wrapping up the season.
“When decorating this year, take the time to purge!” Wendy advises. “Donate the holiday décor you no longer use or have space for. When it’s time to pack it up after the holidays, have clear bins labeled for each room and a brief description of what’s inside. It’s also helpful to take photos of each room to make quick work of decorating the following year.”
