- It enters North America at Mexico’s Pacific Coast at 1:07 p.m. CDT
- Totality will begin in Dallas at 1:40 p.m. CDT
- It exits over North America at Newfoundland, Canada at 2:46 p.m. CDT
- The longest duration of totality will be four minutes, 28 seconds
- During the eclipse, viewers will see shadow bands, Baily’s beads and diamond rings
- Temperatures may drop as much as 10 degrees Fahrenheit
- The sun is approximately 400 times wider than the moon and 400 times farther away
- View the sun through eclipse glasses or a handheld solar viewer
