She went from Stanford dropout to CEO of a billion-dollar health care technology startup to being found guilty of four counts of fraud. This is the story of Elizabeth Holmes, which you can watch now in Hulu’s newest series “The Dropout.”
Based on the podcast of the same name and featuring Amanda Seyfried, whose credits include “Mank” and “Mamma Mia,” “The Dropout” chronicles the rise and fall of Elizabeth Holmes, who started the health care technology company Theranos and unsuccessfully claimed to be able to perform rapid blood tests with just a fingerprick. Those joining Amanda in the series include Naveen Andrews, recognizable as Sayid Jarrah in “Lost,” William H. Macy, who finished his “Shameless” run last year, and “Succession” star Alan Ruck.
If you can’t get enough of Elizabeth Holmes’ scandalous story after watching the limited series, don’t fret. HBO Max’s documentary, “The Inventor: Out For Blood In Silicon Valley,” and reporter John Carreyrou’s book, “Bad Blood: Secrets And Lies In A Silicon Valley Startup,” will be waiting for you.
But the drama doesn’t end with “The Dropout.” Netflix’s newest documentary series “Worst Roommate Ever” follows four nightmare roommate scenarios while season two of “Bridgerton” sees Jonathan Bailey find love. And after a two-year hiatus, fans eager to reunite with Jamie and Claire will get the chance when “Outlander” returns for season six.
