State Fair of Texas
It’s less than 60 days away from the State Fair of Texas, and Texans can get a head start at purchasing their tickets before opening day if they want to.
The State Fair of Texas celebrates its 133rd anniversary this fall, and they’re bringing an abundance of fair fun with them to celebrate the occasion. With fried food, rambunctious rides, concerts and more, there’s plenty to experience at this year’s State Fair, and you may want to purchase your tickets ahead of time to beat the waiting line.
General admission tickets can either be purchased online at a discounted rate of $16.50 or at the gate for $18, according to a State Fair of Texas media release. The State Fair will also offer discounted prices for children 3-12 and seniors 60 or older, $12.50 online and $14 at the gate. Admission is free for children ages two and under.
In addition to their regular fair schedule, a limited number of tickets are still available for the 15th annual Big Tex Choice Awards, which kicks off at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 25. Tickets for the Big Tex Choice Awards tasting are $125, but that ticket will grant you access to 10 of some of the State Fair’s most delectable treats after finalists are selected this month. Semifinalists include the Deep-fried Street Corn, Southern Fried Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo Ball and a Fried Oreo Gelato Pop, among 30 other entries.
Tickets and admission discounts can be found on Big Tex’s website at BigTex.com. The State Fair runs from September 27 until October 20.
