Omni Las Colinas Hotel
Omni Las Colinas Hotel, Las Colinas, Texas
By now, you have hopefully checked off much of the family’s summer vacation list before the new school year begins. But while summer is almost over, the Texas heat persists, with the kids being hot, bored and needing a change of scenery. All you really need is a daycation, and ResortPass is all you need to access the best resort pools in DFW.
First launched in 2016, ResortPass offers day passes to resorts and hotels for their amenities, making it easy for locals to enjoy a luxurious day at the pool without the costs and hassle of packing the family up for an overnight stay. Backed by celebrity entrepreneurs like Gwenyth Paltrow, Jessica Alba and Brian “The Points Guy” Kelly, ResortPass partners with more than 900 leading hotels and resorts, including Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons, Westin, Fairmont and more.
For about $35 and up per person, you’ll get to sit back and relax like a regular resort guest. Lounge chairs are usually first-come, first-served, and towel service and Wi-Fi is generally available as they are for guests. When the kids ask what’s for lunch, simply point them to the resort menu from which you just ordered a refreshing drink.
Swanky swimmers shouldn’t fret — ResortPass is also for those who would rather have a relaxing or romantic pool session. DFW is home to some of the hottest adults-only pools at 4- and 5-star resorts like The Joule and The W overlooking American Airlines Center and Victory Plaza, where house music, cabanas and luxury poolside libations await those looking for an ultra pool experience.
The recently re-designed Jade Waters is a 7-acre water park with a little something for everyone, including multiple pools, dueling 180-foot waterslides, a lazy river and a kids’ splash pad. Guests can enjoy the water park and all of its amenities during the week, as well as the fitness center and tennis courts. On weekends, adults will love the specialty cocktails at Leisure Cove’s swim-up bar, including the popular Watermelon Hurricane. Day passes are available for $110 for two people, and VIP chairs start at $279.
Located in downtown Dallas, The Pool At The Joule is an urban oasis for adults only, focused on its 8-foot cantilevered rooftop pool. Swim and hang out beyond the edge and enjoy stunning views of the city skyline. Day passes are $50 each but come with a complimentary cocktail and valet parking.
Grapevine’s home to summer fun is also home to Paradise Springs — a massive 10-acre outdoor pool and lazy river complete with a 27-foot water slide, games and a toddler pool for the little ones. Admission for adults and children is about $35 each, while infants get in for free. Cabanas start at $399 with a minimum food and beverage spend.
The Lakehouse Waterfront Lounge is a sophisticated resting place and pool overlooking the Mandalay Canal. Enjoy Lake Carolyn views from any one of 160 chaise lounges as you sip on drinks. The “secret garden” hosts yard games while the DJ spins on Saturdays. Day passes for adults and children are $35 each and cabanas for up to seven start at $400.
Take in the sights from high above Dallas at Wet Deck on the 16th floor of the W. The trendy resort’s infinity pool and poolside bar are at the heart of this adult’s-only rooftop oasis. Day passes for the 21 and up crowd start at $120 per person. For those not taking an Uber, valet parking is complimentary, just like the infused water stations and those breathtaking views.
