Flower Mound Christmas Tree Farm
While a voyage to Flower Mound’s gorgeous Christmas tree farm might not even be considered a trip, it’s definitely worth a visit. The property offers thousands of pre-cut trees, including some up to 16 feet tall. Flower Mound Christmas Trees’ property has plenty of gorgeous green selections as well as a few flocked trees for those who are looking for that wintery, snowed-over look.
Owner Jan Balekian says she started her company to make Christmas tree shopping a little more festive and family-oriented, so she loves meeting with customers to learn about their wants and find the perfect tree for their homes and budgets. And kids will love the array of cut-out characters spread throughout the property just waiting for photo ops. FlowerMoundChristmas Trees.com

Wintergreen Farm
For a choose-and-cut farm that sells Virginia Pines, Afghan Pines, Carolina Sapphires, Leyland Cypresses, precut Fraser Firs and precut Noble Firs, venture over to Wintergreen Farm in Van Alstyne. Owners Francis and Kim Frederick purchased the property in 2011 and are now members of The Texas Christmas Trees Growers Association. Guests who make the trip out to the farm can create seasonal memories by cutting down their own trees.
After making a selection, customers can sip on hot chocolate, visit the concession stand and browse through the gift shop while kids play on the playground and feed the farm’s animals. Whether you leave with a fresh cut or precut tree or a handmade wreath, every trip to Wintergreen Farm is set to be a treat. Winter greenChristmasTreeFarm.com

Wells Family Christmas Tree Farm
If you grew up in a northern state and built up loyalty to a certain kind of tree, then Wells Family Christmas Tree Farm might be worth the drive. The Norman farm offers quite the variety including trees normally grown in Oregon and Michigan like Nordmann Firs, Douglas Firs and Blue Spruces. But they also grow Virginia Pines and Scots Pines on the property, making for rows of gorgeous trees just waiting to be wandered through.
Guests can walk around the farm while enjoying apple cider, hot chocolate, coffee and homemade pumpkin spice cookies. And for those who plan to come out on a weekend day, Wells offers live Christmas music on Saturday afternoons. The farm is also unveiling its new gift shop this year that is stocked with plenty of holiday decorations and decor, so you may be able to knock out a few presents while you are there. Even after strapping your chosen tree to the hood of your car and piling in your shopping selections, your family will come home with much more than a few purchases — because you can’t put a price on lasting holiday memories.
