Anjelah Johnson: More Of Me Tour
June 1
TOYOTA MUSIC FACTORY | Going viral is something most people can only dream about, but in 2007, Anjelah Johnson did it twice. She first captured our hearts joking about one of the most relatable experiences in every woman’s life: going to the nail salon. The same year, she joined “MADtv” and portrayed the disgruntled fast food character Bon Qui Qui, who has been seen and enjoyed by over 65 million people around the world. Her passion for stand-up comedy has only grown throughout the years as she has appeared in many popular TV shows like “Ugly Betty,” movies including “Mom’s Night Out” and four comedy specials such as the Netflix original “Not Fancy” and “Mahalo & Goodnight,” now streaming on Hulu. See this hilariously real woman in person during her More of Me Tour, aptly named because if there’s one comedian we can’t get enough of, it’s her.
Dallas Pride
June 1 -2
FAIR PARK | A flood of color, diversity and support for free love is coming to Fair Park this month for the annual Dallas Pride event. This weekend will be like any festival — filled with live music, art, food, shopping and more. It is also designed to support the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community. Don’t miss the music festival on Saturday featuring performances by Grammy-winning Estelle, “American Idol” semi-finalist Ada Vox and local bands. And on Sunday, the Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade will be filled with creative floats. Other attractions include the Family PRIDE Zone, a special place for kids to play games, get their face painted and see a ventriloquist, and Teen PRIDE, which provides a safe place for LGBTQ+ teens aged 13-19 to hang out, listen to music and browse vendor booths. Whether you want to embrace your identity, support a loved one or enjoy a day in community, don’t miss Dallas Pride.
Taste of Dallas
June 7-9
DALLAS MARKET HALL | Sink your teeth into an ooey gooey chocolate marshmallow brownie or sip on a locally brewed craft beer at Taste of Dallas, a foodie’s dream weekend that will satisfy every taste bud (seriously. every. single. one.). This is the 33rd year of this fun summer festival, featuring more than 200 chefs, restaurants and exhibitors. Don’t miss the Taste Beer Garden, Taste Wine Garden, the El Centro College Mentor Cooking Competition and Taste of the Neighborhoods, where you can try delicious menu items and specialty cocktails from over 40 restaurants in various neighborhoods including Deep Ellum, Park Cities, Uptown, Downtown, Bishop Arts and more. New to the festival is the Whiskies of the World event, featuring more than 200 distilled spirits from around the world. It’s a weekend so delicious, you’ll hate getting full.
Jimmy Buffet
June 8
DOS EQUIS PAVILION | A dash of sour lime juice, strong tequila, the whirring of a blender and a glass with a thick, salty rim — no you’re not in heaven. You’re in Margaritaville! Step into Jimmy Buffett’s sandy flip-flops for a second and envision having a name associated with the best mixed drink in the south and some of the easiest music to listen to in the country. (Hint: it’s pretty great!) Before the man created an international franchise of island-themed shirts, stores, restaurants, his own margarita mix and more, he was just a country singer who loved making great music. See him in his element this month when he will be performing all the songs you know and love (“Come Monday,” “Why Don’t We Get Drunk,” “Margaritaville”) at Dos Equis Pavilion. We may not be on an island, but that’s all right — paradise is wherever Jimmy Buffett is.
The Play That Goes Wrong
June 11-16
WINSPEAR OPERA HOUSE | A play about a play can either go horribly wrong or incredibly right. Despite the title, it’s the latter option for “The Play That Goes Wrong,” at Winspear Opera House this month. Produced by Tony winner Kevin McCollum and iconic producer J.J. Abrams, this show was heralded as the funniest on Broadway by a number of major news outlets and won Best New Comedy at the London Olivier Awards. Now it is touring the country, bringing its charm to audiences everywhere. Billed as the “illegitimate Broadway baby” of Sherlock Holmes and Monty Python, this show is about opening night of the play, “The Murder at Haversham Manor,” a night filled with mishaps, an unconscious star, a corpse that has a hard time playing dead and clumsy actors. Something that is so wrong has never been more right!
Texas Summer Jam
June 15
TOYOTA MUSIC FACTORY | Texas gets many things right — Tex Mex, sweet tea, football — but one of the things we are most proud of is our country music. Texas country singers have heart, sexy drawls and songs that reach your soul. See for yourself at Texas Summer Jam, where some of the hottest live bands will be performing on two stages at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory. Headliners on the main stage include Randy Rogers Band (“Crazy People”) and William Clark Green (“Sticks and Stones”). On the Texas Lottery Plaza Stage, hear Ray Johnston Band (“Beautiful You”), Wynn Williams (“Man What a Woman”) and Holly Tucker (“Country Music Won’t Let Me”) perform. With this many talented local musicians in one spot, we’re honored to live in the Lone Star State.

Be prepared to get wet during this event, challenge yourself and have a great time. After, wear your free T-shirt and finisher’s medal with pride. You’ll never settle for ordinary again!
Hugh Jackman
June 19
AMERICAN AIRLINES CENTER | From playing the fierce Wolverine to starring as the captivating circus ringmaster P.T. Barnum (and many other distinct film and stage roles in between), Hugh Jackman is one of the most talented performers of our time. Now, this swoony Australian, Golden Globe and Tony Award-winning entertainer is embarking on his first world tour: The Man. The Music. The Show! He will be performing a collection of his hit showtunes from “The Greatest Showman,” “Les Misérables” and “The Boy From Oz,” as well as other popular songs from Broadway and film, accompanied by a live orchestra. If you enjoy watching Hugh Jackman on the big screen, you will be amazed what he can do on a live stage!
Jeff Dunham
June 21-22
AMERICAN AIRLINES CENTER | Puppet shows aren’t just for kids — especially when Jeff Dunham is involved. His colorful puppet friends are rude, sarcastic and extremely funny. See them in person and be a part of entertainment history this month by attending a special Netflix taping of Jeff Dunham’s “Passively Aggressive” live show at American Airlines Center. This Dallas native is returning home to record his eighth comedy special, and your laughter could be part of the finished product! Dunham is a ventriloquist legend with the Guinness World Record for “Most Tickets Sold for a Stand-up Comedy Tour,” more than one billion views on YouTube, appearances on several TV shows and movies (including “30 Rock” and “Dinner for Schmucks”) and a New York Times best-selling autobiography.
DFW Tour De Cure
June 22
PANTHER ISLAND PAVILION | Pump your legs, pedal your feet and glide your way to the finish line at the DFW Tour de Cure! Cyclists of all levels can choose to bike a 10-, 24-, 37- or 66-mile route or opt to walk or run instead on the 5K or 10K trails. Celebrate with people fighting diabetes at the after-party, which includes a free lunch. All proceeds from the event benefit the American Diabetes Association and its efforts to fund diabetes research, information and advocacy. Whether you have Type 1, Type 2 or gestational diabetes, or you just want to support those who do, everyone is welcome at this uplifting event. After all, it’s just as much of a social gathering as it is a workout!
Dallas Dessert Fest
June 23
DALLAS | A bouquet of unicorn-and-pastel-colored cake pops inside a waffle cone dipped in icing, a chocolate sprinkled donut topped with a heaping mound of vanilla ice cream, Oreo cookies fried and sprinkled with powdered sugar — these are just a few options available at Dallas Dessert Super Fest. This family friendly event is a sugar bliss, filled with one-of-a-kind delectable goodies. While there, you can also shop at various boutiques and vendors, paint your own artwork to take home, eat savory foods from local food trucks, listen to live music, watch the dessert contest and enjoy more entertainment for all ages. This event is so sweet, you’ll have to brush your teeth afterward, but it’s totally worth it.
Thomas Rhett
June 28
DOS EQUIS PAVILION | Still fresh from the release of his fourth studio album, “Center Point Road,” in May, Thomas Rhett is touring the U.S. with fellow country stars Dustin Lynch (“Small Town Boy”), Russell Dickerson (“Yours”) and his father, Rhett Atkins (“Don’t Get Me Started”). This CMA and ACM award winner is bringing his upbeat blend of country, pop and R&B music to Dallas at the end of the month, giving fans the opportunity to sing along to “Look What God Gave Her,” “Life Changes” and “Marry Me.” With his country roots and smooth voice (and irresistible charm), this concert will be “Unforgettable.”
Celebrate Freedom
June 29
Texas Motor Speedway | Celebrate Freedom is like your regular church worship service – on steroids. It’s the largest free outdoor Christian music festival in the U.S> featuring the biggest names in Christina music. For example, TobyMac, David Crowder, Matthew West, Casting Crowns, Newsboys and Chris Tomlin have all performed here in past years. Don patriotic colors and wave the American flag high at this Independence Day event, which will also include a jaw-dropping firework show, an inflatable amusement park for kids (including gigantic water slides), autograph signing from the performers and, of course, delicious food like funnel cakes and turkey legs.
