There's always something going on in the Lone Star State. And now, it's officially one of the most fun states in the U.S. WalletHub released its report on 2018's Most Fun States in America, and Texas found itself in the top ten. After ranking all 50 states across 26 indicators, the Lone Star State was named the seventh most fun state in the country.
It also named No. 1 for restaurants per capita, movie theaters per capita and amusement parks per capita. And it's ranked fifth in fitness centers per capita and 10th in performing-arts theaters per capita.
And while other bustling cities like Austin and Houston definitely add to the statewide energy, Dallas is quickly becoming an entertainment destination. It may just be the new foodie capital of the country. While surveying the country for the best restaurants in America, Brett Martin, GQ's food correspondent, named Dallas the “Next Best New Food City” after spending a few days in town.
These moments of recognition are definitely proving the Metroplex in on the map. In WalletHub's 2017 findings, Dallas was named 29th Most Fun City in America and 36th Best Foodie City in America when compared to over 100 other large U.S. cities.
So celebrate like a true Texan: by checking out a local restaurant, heading out to see a movie or make your way to a theme park.
