On June 1, Southlake families celebrated the beginning of the new season at the Southlake Public Library's Summer Kick Off event. Starting out at 10 a.m, guests could come out to Bicentennial Park to enjoy craft stations, run through an obstacle course, snack on Rita's Italian Ices or participate in a hidden treasures scavenger hunt. While their array of activities were entertaining, the main attraction centered on Southlake's summer reading program.
This year's themed program explores a mystical world with a Rookery Woods Bookery setting. Kids participating in this free program will explore the power of imagination while aspiring to reach new reading levels. Some readers will even win prizes for completing different adventures and meeting different milestones.
