The fourth annual Women’s Luncheon, hosted at The Marq on October 10 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., will bring leaders from different industries and walks of life together to discuss the topics that affect us all. To help oversee that conversation, our 2018 keynote speaker Patti Johnson will join us once again to lead a panel about balancing it all. After our 2019 keynote speaker, CEO of the Texas Restaurant Association Emily Williams Knight, Ed.D., leads us off, she will be joined by other successful women to answer both Patti’s and audience questions.
The panel will include Courtyards at River Park Guest Services Director Jamé Scott. Our readers may recognize her from our March 2019 issue where we explored how she overcame an array of life challenges and uses them to help others. Jamé, who was once homeless, told us she felt like she is called “to advocate for other people and help them get out of their turmoil to wherever their destiny and purpose is in life.”
Elizabeth Perez, former Director of Strategic Planning and Development at Duke University and current mom of Southlake super kid Abigail Perez, will also join the conversation. As the mom of three, one of which is an entrepreneur, Elizabeth knows just how tough it can be to balance it all.
Carroll ISD’s Assistant Superintendent for Board and Community Relations Julie Thannum will also be a part of our 2019 panel. Julie has served the city’s school system for decades and has created a model that other school districts across the country strive to follow. If you know Julie, you know she is always on the clock ensuring that everyone she serves has what they need.
We look forward to the vibrant conversations expected to come out of this inspiring group. Make sure you don’t miss out on what is set to be an engaging event by reserving your ticket. Plus, 10 percent of ticket sales will benefit GRACE’s Traditional Housing program and Susan G. Koman. Tickets are available on 817Tix.com.
