The Southlake Chamber of Commerce recognized 12 individuals and businesses during its annual awards banquet on June 23.
With this year’s theme being “1923 Southlake Speakeasy,” the Southlake Chamber’s awards banquet was held to recognize business leaders and their many contributions to the community. Swim4Elise founder Lori Cerami was honored as Citizen of the Year for her tireless advocacy, visiting over 1,500 child care facilities every summer to educate them on water safety.
This year’s legacy award goes to Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine for its active support and engagement with the chamber for many years. Fire prevention officer Renni Burt was recognized as Civil Servant of the Year, while city councilmember Shawn McCaskill received the Chairman’s Award. Chamber ambassadors Kylan Hoss and Victoria Meagher won the President’s Award, with Victoria winning Ambassador of the Year as well. Back To Life Chiropractic’s Dr. Michelle Krenek won Director of the Year, while Black Door Renovation founder Elizabeth Huffman won Volunteer of the Year.
Methodist Southlake Medical Center won Corporate Business of the Year, AC Pros won Small Business of the Year and the Rotary Club of Southlake won Civic Group of the Year as well. Finally, Carroll Student Council president Samad Rizvi won Youth of the Year.
“This is the night when we honor those in the Southlake community that have made positive changes in our chamber and in the city and set an example for others to follow with their initiative, creativity and energy,” chamber president Mark Guilbert says.
