After Hurricane Laura touched down in Texas on August 26, survivors weren’t alone in facing the aftermath — the Southlake Fire Department sent five of its own to assist in relief and recovery efforts.
According to MySouthlakeNews.com, Lt. Frank Molinets was among the first paramedics deployed with Texas Task Force 1 to support rescue and damage assessment efforts after the hurricane hit. Lt. Ricky Davis and firefighter Nic Miles assisted with evacuation alongside the Texas Emergency Medical Task Force, while Lt. Bryan Thomas and firefighter Jon Casey assisted with medical care.
“We greatly appreciate our personnel for going above and beyond the call of duty to travel across the state and assist other Texas citizens in their time of need,” Southlake Fire Deputy Chief Kurt Hall says in MySouthlakeNews.com.
All Southlake Fire Department personnel returned from the coast last week. While the storm has passed, recovery efforts are still ongoing. Click here to see how you can help victims that were affected by the hurricane.
