The Southlake Carroll Dragons are kicking off a new basketball season Monday, Dec. 2, with their third annual Dragon Madness event.
Presented by Carroll Basketball and the Carroll Athletic Booster Club, Dragon Madness is a pep-rally-turned-slam-dunk contest that features basketball players, cheerleaders, fans and more. Participants will be able to meet the Dragon basketball team, win fun prizes and enjoy some delicious food and goodies. In addition to the fun activities, Dragon Madness will also hold its annual celebrity slam dunk contest. The event also features the Team Big Air acrobatic slam dunk team as the night’s special guests.
Also returning from previous Dragon Madness events are the Carroll Crazies, a student spirit squad that pumps the crowd up at home basketball games. Like last year’s event, the first 100 high school students to sign up will get a special 2019 Carroll Crazies basketball jersey.
The free family-friendly event runs from 5:45 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Carroll Senior High School gym, located at 1501 W. Southlake Blvd. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., player introductions are at 6:30 p.m. and the all-star shootout begins at 7 p.m.
