It didn't take long for Southlake Carroll's offense to get the ball rolling on Friday night, opening with a touchdown with quadruple digits still on the clock in the first quarter, en route to a 52-14 victory over Robert E. Lee High School on Friday night. The score came from Mason Holmes-Lil' Jordan Humprhey connection on a fade route, which was the first of four scores for the Dragons' feature back.

After another strong hold on defense, the Dragons scored again on a 32-yard field goal by Kole Ramage, putting Carroll up 17-0 with just over 2 minutes to go in the first quarter. Midland responded with one of its only two scores of the day when halfback Ashton Akbar took the ball to the house on a 78-yard run with 2:05 remaining in the quarter.
In the second, Humprhey scored his second to put Carroll up 24-7. After equal exchanges by both units, the Dragons took the field once again before the half's conclusion for yet another scoring drive; this one with an all-too-familiar, Holmes-Humphrey connection with 13 seconds to go. Humprhrey's third touchdown of the night put Carroll up 31-7.
The momentum carried into the second half, and Carroll continued to score, dwindling away Lee's chances of a comeback.
