Quinn Ewers announced his decision to decommit from the University of Texas on Wednesday night via Twitter. ESPN’S No. 1 recruit in the nation said he didn’t “explore all options as thoroughly as I would have liked.”
Ewers, a five-star quarterback, originally announced his commitment to UT in August. During his 2019 season, the junior threw for 4,003 yards, 45 touchdowns and only three interceptions. So far in the 2020 season, Ewers has thrown for 937 yards, 11 touchdowns and two interceptions.
With his decommitment, Ewers will again begin to evaluate the 31 college offers he’s received, according to 247Sports. Colleges such as Ohio State, Alabama, Baylor and LSU are among those trying to recruit the junior.
