Curb appeal: You can betbrmembers of the Southlake Garden Club know how to create it. At the club’sbrOctober general meeting hosted by Mariann Nichols, guest speaker Brad Sandy frombrthe Dallas County Master Gardener Organization gave a presentation on curbbrappeal.
Sandy discussed thebrimportance of aesthetically pleasing curb appeal and its impact onbrproperty values and a house's general appearance. His presentation included before-and-afterbrpictures of landscaping to show how planting the right flowers and shrubs, and strategicallybrusing natural elements such as rocks and boulders can change a home's entirebrappearance.
“Don't wait to startbrworking on your curb appeal a week before you put your house up for sale,” saidbrSandy, in reference to trimming bushy, low-growing limbs that block the view. “Thebrhigher the skirt, the prettier the leg.”
