Southlake has plenty to be thankful for. From tasty bakeries and restaurants to our Emerald Belles to new hotels, Southlake had many reasons to celebrate in November. These are just a few of them.
1. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Recognized By “U.S. News & World Report”
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Grapevine has provided personalized, compassionate care to the community for nearly 70 years. But last month, it expanded its operations to care for patients dealing with complex conditions. Recognized by “U.S. News & World Report” as high performing in COPD, stroke, heart and kidney failure, Baylor Scott & White - Grapevine is the only Level II Trauma Center in Northeast Tarrant County and served as a standout in November’s Top Medical Facilities special section.
2. Grapevine Baker Ends ‘Holiday Baking Championship’ Journey
Last year, Legacy Cakes owner Megan Rountree competed on the Food Network’s “Holiday Baking Championship,” making it all the way to the season finale. And while she did not win the grand prize, she still made a fantastic showing and proudly represented her community. As the holidays begin to ramp up, residents are excited to order some colorful and delicious desserts for the season, which explains why Legacy Cakes was such a hot topic last month.
3. Six Emerald Belles Perform In Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
Six Emerald Belles marched in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this year in New York City. The six lucky Belles included Ella Connelly, Karys Engelhardt, Olivia Haley, Shriya Kalra, Gabby Langston and Hallie Nelson, and they marched alongside the Spirit of America’s Dance Stars to the tune of “Man With The Bag.” These six girls were among 600 performers at the show, and they represented their Southlake community well on Thanksgiving morning.
4. 10 Thanksgiving Restaurant Specials
The holidays kept Southlake households busy this November, especially on Thanksgiving Day. Last month, many people were looking for catering and takeout options to help them out for Thanksgiving dinner. Thankfully, Southlake restaurants delivered, with Bacchus Kitchen + Bar, Brio Tuscan Grille, Buca di Beppo, Central Market, Copeland’s, Del Frisco’s, Perry’s Steakhouse, Scratch Catering, Capital Grille and Truluck’s all helped bring turkey dinner to the table on Nov. 25.
5. Westin Dallas Southlake Celebrates Grand Opening
Southlake celebrated the grand opening of the Westin Dallas Southlake hotel last month. Not only does the luxury hotel have 34,000 square feet of amenities and features, but it also brings a new modern American restaurant called Jellico’s to the area. Whether you check out the heavenly architecture, taste the roasted chicken or take a dive into the outdoor pool, there’s plenty to experience over at the Westin Dallas Southlake.
