Well, it's finally here.
Grapevine Craft Brewery is releasing it's very first IPA. But why be ordinary, right? This is a special beer, complex, a spectrum of aromas and flavors and definitely not your typical IPA.
"We already have access to some really great IPAs on the market, so we didn't want to attempt to reinvent the wheel," explains Grapevine Craft Brewery founder Gary Humble.
The 10 Gauge is every bit of a traditional American style IPA with the simple addition of a Belgian yeast strain. There really is no particular style here, in that it is a blatant attempt to defy convention.
There are a handful of examples on the market, such as LaChouffe Houblon and Urthel Hopit, but American craft brewers have really picked up the mantle and run with it on this one.
"We dry hop this beer with a combination of Chinook and Palisade hops, which lend themselves surprisingly well to cooperation with this Belgian yeast," Humble said. "The combination is terrific, but not for the uninitiated."
Grapevine Craft Brewery wil be posting where you can find this beer on draft as well as upcoming pint night and keep the glass events.
But if you want a sure shot at getting your hands on this beer, join us for our June brewery tour this Saturday June 7th 12-3pm here at the brewery. We'll have our new 10 Gauge Belgian IPA on tap!
