The countdown is on for the second annual FÜDTRUKY (food • truck • ee ), a day full of FÜD ( good • food ), TÜNs ( rockin' • tunes ) and BRÜs (beer). On May 11, from 1 to 9 p.m., locals can come out to The Marq’s Aria Amphitheater for one of the largest music and food festivals in the area.
We are quadrupling the number of musical acts this year. Because who doesn’t love more live TÜNs? Devin Leigh will kick us off and will be followed by Doug Kent, School of Rock, Dan Quinn, Live 80 and, our headliner, Blaze of Glory. You can learn more about each performer here.
Be sure to bring your appetite because Holy Frijole, Big Kat Burgers, Jack’s Chowhound, Just Encased, Aunt Shirley’s Food Truck, Chiave’s Italian Street Food Truck and Pokey O’s will be onsite dishing out food. You can get a feel for their menus here. Locals will be able to wash it all down with craft beers from Shannon Brewing Company. Or, for those who prefer wine, you can sample a few of the vintages available at the Classic Wine & Storage table.
To entertain the little ones, stop by our KidZone, sponsored by Hays Financial Strategies, Little Sunshine Playhouse and Moviehouse & Eatery. Furry friends are also welcome to come out for the fun-filled day, and they will even walk away with some exciting treats after checking out the Pet Plaza, sponsored by Hollywood Feed. Other sponsors include Associated Time, Haven Dental, Precision Orthopedics & Sports Medicine and OZARKA.
And it is all for a good cause. A portion of proceeds will help support the GRACE Feed Our Kids Program. Southlake Style will donate 50 percent of all admissions (children 2 and under are free) along with a percentage of concession sales in hopes of raising $15,000 — enough to provide more than 5,000 nutritious lunches to area children without access to free or reduced meals when school is out for the summer.
